What we are aiming at
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this site. We do not claim to have met every criterion everywhere, and we will not describe this site as compliant or certified. What follows is what we evaluated, how, and what we know is still wrong.
How it was evaluated
- Automated testing with axe-core, run against every public page, in both the light and dark themes.
- A manual keyboard walk of each page and of both tools: reaching every control, operating it, and leaving it, without a pointer.
- Checking that focus is visible on every control that can take focus.
- Rendering at 320 CSS pixels wide to confirm text reflows and nothing needs horizontal scrolling.
- Confirming every animation stops when the system is set to reduce motion, enforced by a test that fails the build if a new one escapes it.
This is a self-evaluation. No third party has audited this site.
What we know is not done
- Screen-reader testing so far is a smoke test of the main flows rather than a full pass across several assistive technology and browser combinations. The combinations will be named here once that pass is done.
- The upload flow has had the automated and keyboard testing above, but not yet an end-to-end screen-reader pass. The file input, its error messages and the report it produces are what we most want to hear about.
If something does not work
Email hello@accessdossier.com and tell us what you were trying to do and what happened. Tell us what you are using if you can, because it helps us reproduce it. We will tell you what we find, including when the answer is that we have not fixed it yet.
